The Parking Garage Dilemma - The Need for Smart Investments

🚗 Meadville has what the Tribune called a “parking garage dilemma.” City Council recently received an assessment of the Market Square Parking Garage, and while it’s not at risk of collapse, falling concrete is a serious issue. The question now is: What should be done?

🔹 The Options – Repair it short-term, invest in long-term fixes, or tear it down. No matter the choice, we’re looking at millions of dollars in costs.

💰 A Smart Investment? – I’m still weighing the options on this issue, but one thing is clear—smart investments must be the priority moving forward. If we don’t have a sustainable long-term plan to fund and maintain major infrastructure projects like parking garages, we shouldn’t move forward. It’s too late to undo past mistakes, but we can make sure we don’t repeat them.
