As we approach the May 20 primary, I’m excited to share the core values that will guide my work on City Council, aiming to build a vibrant, inclusive, and prosperous community.
This week’s focus is on a key component of governance: partnerships.
👥 Teamwork is crucial. My experiences as a teacher and coach have shown me the power of collaboration. Students and athletes thrive when working together towards common goals, a principle I will apply on City Council.
🏙️ Meadville has a wealth of talent and community spirit. Many individuals and organizations are eager to contribute to our city's improvement. By harnessing this enthusiasm, we can achieve great things.
🤝 City Council must collaborate. Challenges cannot be solved in isolation. We need partnerships with businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and residents to ensure informed, effective solutions.
💡 Strong partnerships help us to:
💰 Secure grants – Collaborating with community organizations allows us to pursue funding for essential projects, investing in our future.
🏘️ Revitalize downtown – Partnerships with local businesses and groups can enhance our downtown, attracting visitors and supporting businesses, creating a lively environment.
⚽ Expand recreation – Working with sports leagues and schools, we can offer more recreational opportunities, promoting healthy lifestyles and community belonging.
🏡 Tackle housing challenges – Collaborating with developers and advocates, we can address housing needs, creating solutions for diverse populations.
In a small city like ours, collaboration is key. By embracing partnerships, we can harness community strengths, overcome challenges, and create a brighter future for Meadville.
